Stitcher Showcase: Faith Trainer

My name is Faith Trainer, I am 44 years old. I live in Salem, Oregon. I started doing embroidery probably 35 years ago. A friend of the family got me started. I still have the first piece I did…Boy, have I come a long ways! Then I probably started counted cross stitch back in the early 90s when my children were still small. I embroidered and quilted a baby blanket for my son back in 1992.

I just finished the Horses By the Stream by Dimensions. It is 11×16 on 18 count aida. Some of the stitches are full ones but most of it is done in half stitches. It took me probably 6 months to finish. The frame is a little smaller than I wanted but the next size they had was way too big. This is a birthday present for my sister-in-law. She has about 40+ horses (American Saddlebred) so I thought it would be a fitting gift. I already started on my next project which is a Christmas Wall Quilt for my sister. Instead of doing it in the traditional reds and greens, I am doing it in many shades of purple. Purple is her favorite color. When I finish that I will send you a picture of it.
