Cinnamon Apple Cake (kaneleplekake)
Cinnamon Butter:
Peel and core apples. Put them in a pot with the water and sugar and bring them to a boil until they are like a thick applesauce. Cut the bread into cubes and fry them in a skillet with the butter and cream. Be sure to watch closely so the cream doesn’t scorch. Put the bread mixture into a baking dish. Pour the applesauce over the bread cubes. Cinnamon Butter: Mix the butter with the sugar then add in the eggs, one at a time. Add the cinnamon, flour and cream. Spread the cinnamon butter over the bread and applesauce mixture. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. |
